Therapeutic Approach
Seeking therapy can be one of the most difficult decisions we make for ourselves, our children, or our families. It requires us to take steps of courage through vulnerability, uncertainty, and trauma in the hope that we may grow through it and into our best selves.
Keeping this in mind, the foundation of my work is rooted in evidence based practices to ensure that you or your children obtain the most encouraging and informed support based on current research. These practices include the following therapeutic approaches:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Person Centered Therapy
Motivational Interviewing
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Intersectionality
Strengths-Based Therapy
Trauma Informed Care
Solution Focused Therapy
Social Emotional Frameworks
Play Therapy
Biopsychosocial Frameworks
Family Systems Theory
You’ll find I blend these approaches based on what you need because my most crucial practice is meeting you where you are and supporting growth from there. Therapists call this the therapeutic alliance and the research tells us it’s the most significant factor in therapeutic growth. I’ll work to build this alliance with you from a thoughtful, warm, and patient role and we’ll work together to connect the dots between clinical insight and your growth. As we start to dive into the work, it may feel akin to a creative process. And, as we strengthen our alliance, you may start to see the creativity at work and begin to navigate your mental health with the same kind of creativity. That’s where I think you find the magic.
My focus is to find where you are and help you grow from there. As you gain insight and continue on beyond our work together, my hope is that you’re able to find the good and see it get better.
